"The Indoninja", Bilal Hasan, faced Jason Eastman at CFFC 143. Hasan secured a knockout victory in the fourth round, successfully retaining his Flyweight title in the CFFC promotion. Going into the matchup, Hasan was a –2000 favourite—and he fought like it. He dominated the bout almost from start to finish.
Although Eastman was ultimately defeated, his game plan was commendable. He caught Hasan in a 50/50 leg entanglement and remained very active in hunting for submissions. This was a clever strategy, as Hasan is primarily known for his striking rather than his ground game. Forcing him into a grappling exchange truly tested whether Hasan had done his homework on the ground.
With this victory, Hasan moved to a professional record of seven wins and no losses. Impressively, six of those wins have come by stoppage—five by knockout and one by submission—placing him on a six-fight finishing streak.
Hasan has undoubtedly earned his place in the UFC. He is an exciting fighter who can finish bouts decisively, and it’s time he was added to the UFC roster.
